A. Lloyd Lewis, 89, of El Dorado, Kansas, and formerly of Emporia, Kansas, died on March 26, 2012 in El Dorado.
Lloyd was born January 9, 1923 in rural Lyon County, Kansas, the son of Arthur “Cap” and Ethel Van Gundy Lewis. He married Emily Cleone “Toni” Campbell on December 29, 1948 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah. She died on January 25, 2009 in El Dorado.
Survivors include: daughters, Lee Ann Urton of El Dorado, Lynette (Bill) Frisbie of Wichita, Kansas, and Janene (Bill) Dewey of Fairbanks, Alaska; 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Leila Ruddick of Wichita, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Lloyd was a retired farm manager and rural appraiser, and was also a farmer and rancher. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Emporia. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia.
