Adam Albert Tebben

April 8, 1988 — January 20, 2024

Winfield

Adam Albert Tebben, 35 years old, of Winfield, KS entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2024, while doing what he loved as a flight nurse in Weatherford, OK.  Adam was born on April 8, 1988, in Emporia, KS.  He is the son of Dallas and Carmen Tebben, brother of Rachel Tebben- Wolter and husband of Rebecka Tebben.

During Adam’s beautiful life on earth, he enjoyed spending time with his dad Dallas on the family farm near Yates Center, KS as they both shared their love as avid hunters of white tail deer and wild turkey.  He loved taking his wife Rebecka with him when he went turkey hunting.  He always said she was his good luck charm.  Adam and Rebecka enjoyed being outdoors with each other. They enjoyed each other’s company while Rebecka rode her bike and Adam ran beside her.  Adam and Rebecka took many road trips and had looked forward to many more. Adam spent countless hours in the kitchen while growing up with his mom Carmen sharing their love of cooking, a passion that was passed on through generations by his grandmother Ofelia.  Adam shared this gift and passion of cooking with his wife, Rebecka, where the tradition continued, and they loved cooking together.  Adam’s sister Rachel has many fond memories with her brother that she cherishes. She recalls looking up to Adam from a very young age and sought him out often for advice and guidance throughout the years.  Adam loved playing sports, especially baseball which he began playing at 5 years old.  He spent his childhood and high school years on the ball field playing for Legion and high school teams and went on to play in college as well.  His love for the field continued to flourish into his adult years where playing softball became one of his favorite past times.  Adam would take any opportunity to dance like no one was watching and in his free time he loved taking pictures while flying his drone.

Adam attended grade school at Village Elementary School and Lowther North and South in Emporia, KS.  He then transitioned to Chase County public schools from seventh grade until he graduated from Chase County High School located in Cottonwood Falls, KS in 2006.  Adam then received an academic and baseball scholarship for college through Baker University in Baldwin City, KS.  He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology.  After college, Adam went to work for his uncle Larry in Austin, TX as a Senior Project Manager with LD Tebben Roofing Company.   He then returned to Emporia, KS to pursue his nursing degree at Emporia State University, which was inspired by his mother’s love for the nursing profession.  He graduated in 2017, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).  From this moment, nursing became Adam’s passion and true calling.  He was actively involved in several nursing organizations through nursing school and his career.  He served on the National Student Nursing Association (NSNA), Board of Directors from 2015 to 2016 and served as President of the National Student Nursing Association (NSNA) from 2016 to 2017.  He was a member of the Kansas State Nursing Association (KSNA) and held the position of President Elect in 2019, President from 2020 to 2021 and Past President in 2022.  Adam was a highly esteemed national speaker who spent time advocating for the nursing profession and addressing topics of leadership and development at events throughout the country.  He was a member of the American Nurses Association and the Emergency Nurses Association.  He also obtained his board certification in Emergency Nursing, an esteemed credential for emergency care and emergency department nursing excellence.

Adam is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Everett and Edith Tebben, maternal grandparents Martin and Ofelia Alvarado and his Cousin Beau Wallace.

He is survived by his wife Rebecka (Miller) Tebben, parents Dallas and Carmen Tebben, sister Rachel (Brandon) Tebben-Wolter and niece Ellalyn Wolter.   Five uncles; Larry (Michelle) Tebben, George Tebben, Martin (Cheryl) Alvarado, Gabriel (Lori) Alvarado and Seth (Lauren) Alvarado.  Three Aunts; Barbara Munoz, Danielle (Robert) Wallace and Mical (Don) Thomas.  Cousins; Zila (Jim) Welsh, Autumn Irwin, Ian (Meredith) Sadler, Lance (Courtney) Sadler, Briana (David) Ross, Japheth (Stephanie) Alvarado, Alexis Thomas, Ashley (Evan) Smith, Lydia Alvarado, Tara Tebben, April Munoz, Vanessa Munoz and Eddie (Lindsay) Munoz.  Zeta Chi Fraternity brothers; Ty Summers and Greg Rogers.
