Addine Geneva Lane

Addine Geneva Lane, Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Holiday Resort, Emporia. She was 87.


Addine Geneva Shirley was born on a farm Southwest of Melvern, Kansas on August 21, 1924, the daughter of Ernest Harry and Bertha Lorene (Moore) Shirley. She married Raymond Eston Lane at the church parsonage in Barclay, Kansas on July 18, 1942. He died January 4, 2004.


Surviving family members include: daughter, Patricia Ann Steinkuehler, Council Grove, Kansas; sons, Bobby Ray Lane, Sr. of Emporia, Douglas Earl Lane, Lebo, Kansas, and Richard Lee Lane, Emporia; sister, Phyllis B. Morton, Whittier, California; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen, Aaron, and Cloyce Shirley; and grandsons, Eric and Tim Green.


Mrs. Lane was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, the United Methodist Women of the church, the Auxiliary of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, VFW, and the Auxiliary of Newman Regional Health.


Funeral services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Susan Daniel-Brey will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, Kansas.
