Albert Howard Roglin, Jr., 88, of Emporia, Kansas, died on October 31, 2012 in Emporia.
Albert was born on April 18, 1924 in Quincy, Kansas, the son of Albert Howard Roglin, Sr., and Retta Slough Roglin. He married Edith Marie Wygle on November 9, 1947. She also died on October 31, 2012 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: daughters, Sally Roglin of Emporia, and Virginia Honomichl of Baldwin City, Kansas; granddaughter, Abby Haight of Harrisonville, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Brady and Whitney Haight both of Harrisonville.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, James T. Roglin; and sisters, Gladys Sherar, and Jean Roglin.
Albert was a Farmer/Stockman all his life. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion, the Eastern Star, and Woodson Masonic Lodge #121in Toronto, Kansas for 55 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United State Air Force.
Funeral services will be held at 9:59 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Kansas. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, November 7, 2012, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Emporia Friends of the Zoo, or Grace United Methodist Church, and sent in care of the funeral home.
