Alberta Lorene Risley, 96, of Emporia, Kansas, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Emporia.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday July 17, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Pastor Ron Phelps will be officiating.
Alberta was born March 9, 1919 to Ralph W. Bailey and Ida Mae Eshom Bailey in Lawrence, Kansas. She graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School in 1937. She married Heyward G. Risley in Lawrence on January 1, 1938. They made their home in Lawrence, Reading, Cottonwood Falls and Emporia, Kansas during their 58 years together.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; a dedicated hard worker, talented pianist, and passionate animal lover.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward and a son, Larry G. Risley.
She is survived by a son, Richard D. Risley and wife Kathy of Amarillo, Texas and their children, Scott Risley and his wife Kai, and Angie Owen; a daughter-in-law, Emi Risley of Emporia and her children, Mike Risley and his wife Scarlett, Kevin Risley and his wife Carolyn, and Tammy Risley. Alberta is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Bryson Risley, Haley and Hana Risley, Kadon and Hudson McClellan, and Libby and Ava Owen.
