Alberta L Shaw

Alberta L. Shaw, Emporia, Kansas, died February 17, 2025, at her home. She was 78 years old.

Alberta was born on July 13, 1946, in Neosho Rapids, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Isabell (Fish) Verlin. She married John A. Shaw in Neosho Rapids, Kansas, on December 18, 1966. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include daughter Julie (Derek) Helms, Emporia, Kansas; son Robert Shaw, Topeka, Kansas; brother Edward Verlin, Valley Center, Kansas; twin brother Albert Verlin, Emporia, Kansas; and grandchildren Karoli McKay, Taylor McKay and Easton Helms.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her brother Lonnie Verlin.

After graduating high school, Alberta worked at the cafeteria at the Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia, Kansas, Crawford Mfg., and was a housewife.

Cremation is planned, with services at a later date. Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
