Alfredo R. Rodriguez

Alfredo R. Rodriguez of Emporia, Kansas, died May 3, 2024, at Olathe Hospice House. He was 83 years old.

Alfredo was born on March 28, 1941, in Michoacan, Mexico, the son of Jose and Marina Rodriguez. He married Diane Rodriguez on October 4, 1969, in California. She survives of the home. While living in California, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 17 years. When they came to Emporia, he worked at Tyson for 10 years, then retired.

Survivors include wife, Diane Rodriguez, Emporia, KS; daughters Gina Rodriguez, Emporia, KS; Valerie Duran (Richard Duran, son-in-law), Emporia, KS; sons Joseph Rodriguez, Emporia, KS; Angel Rodriguez, (Brenda Rodriguez, daughter-in-law) Emporia, KS; brothers Elias Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez; sisters Otilia Elizarraraz; Refugia “Cuca” Hernandez; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother Pedro, and sister Rafaela.

Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home is assisting with all funeral arrangements.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Jones Park.

Mi Papi was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Emporia, Kansas. There was nothing more important to my dad than his family and faith. We knew that no matter what happened in our lives, or how old we got, our dad would always be there for us. Besides being dedicated to his family, he was also devoted to his faith. There was no doubt in my dad’s mind that he was in the truth. His faith never wavered, even once, and remained faithful until he took his last breath.
