Angelika "Angie" Harris

Angelika “Angie” Harris, 51, of Americus died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita. In keeping with her giving nature, she donated her organs for transplantation to others in need.

Angelika Schroeder the daughter of Hartmut and Elfriede Ziener Schroeder was born April 13, 1967 in Augsburg, Germany. She married Billy Harris in September of 1992, in Indianapolis, IN. They later divorced. Angie was custodian at the Americus Elementary School and was on the board of directors for the Americus Housing Authority and the North Lyon County Veterans Memorial.

She is survived by two sons, Timothy J. Schroeder of Sanford TX and Patrick Harris of Borger, Texas; Two brothers, Hartmut Schroeder and Klaus Schroeder both of Augsburg, Germany; two sisters, Margarete Wagner and Nicole Schroeder both of Augsburg, Germany; her mother, Elfriede Schroeder of Augsburg, Germany; and her close friend and sister at heart, Nicky Nuessen of Americus; and her ex-husband, Billy Harris of Sanford, Texas. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Hartmut Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett. Burial will be in the Americus Cemetery east of Americus. The family will meet with friends from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett. Donations to the North Lyon County Veterans Memorial may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett.
