Barbara Grace (Goodell) Adkins, Emporia, Kansas, passed away April 22, 2025, at the age of 92.
Barbara was born March 1, 1933, in Toledo, Kansas, the daughter of George and Maude (Henry) Goodell. She married Robert Adkins on July 26, 1951. Together they had seven children. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, who died October 15, 2004, son; Steven Adkins, daughters; Pamela Hopkins and Teresa Adkins, daughter-in-law; Marla Kelley Adkins, her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by daughter; Jana (Scott) Peak, Emporia, Kansas, sons; Dennis (Teri) Adkins Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, Damon (Karen Whitmore) Adkins and Randy Adkins, Emporia, Kansas, daughter-in-law; Lana Adkins, son-in-law; Mark Hopkins, her sister; Janice (Dale) Stead, 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
Barbara was a homemaker and loved to square dance and camp. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Cremation is planned. A Graveside service at Hillside Cemetery, Toledo, Kansas, will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.
A memorial has been established with Hand In Hand Hospice or Special Olympics. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
