Barbara Jean "Jeannie” Bradshaw, 85, Emporia, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Holiday Resort, Emporia.
Barbara Jean Heffron was born March 5, 1931 in Emporia, the daughter of Joseph James and Christina Elizabeth (Bunk) Heffron. She married Glen Albert Bradshaw at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, on June 23, 1952. He died February 12, 2004.
Surviving family members include her son, Larry Bradshaw and wife, Billie, Poolesville, MD; sister, Mary Catherine Korte, Lawrence, Kansas; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Bradshaw) Mahoney and Andrew Minnich Bradshaw; and four great-grandchildren, Brynn and Brett Bradshaw, and Emery and Taylor Mahoney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Jeannie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. She had worked at Anderson Insurance and the Lyon County Clerk’s Office for several years and retired 23 years ago.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Brandon Farrar of the church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
The Rosary will be recited at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, July 10, 2016. The family will visit friends following the Rosary.
Memorials have been established with the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund or Hand-In-Hand Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas.
