Bernard “Barney” Alfred Lee, 86, of Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his home.
Barney was born January 10, 1928 in Emporia, the son of Glen and Fern (Bernard) Lee. He was a farmer and a carpenter. Barney was a member of the United Methodist Church in Americus, Kansas and served in the US Army during WWII.
Barney married Mildred Elaine Folger on June 2, 1957 in Viola, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: son, Paul Lee and wife Hazel of Council Grove, Kansas; daughter, Lynn Gehring and husband Steven of Allen, Kansas; brother, Gail R. Lee of Dunlap, Kansas; grandchildren, Steven Gehring, Jr., Laura McDermott, Robert Gehring, Angela Kehoe, Jedidiah Lee, Amy Lee, and Gail B. Lee; great-grandchildren, Zachariah Lee and Richard McDermott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glenda Hayes; brother, Robert Lee; and son, Dale A. Lee.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 8, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Americus, Kansas. Pastor Pat Buss will be officiating. Interment will be follow in Dunlap Cemetery in Dunlap, Kansas.
