Funeral services for Betty Dengler, 43, who passed away Sunday evening, January 25, 2015 at her home in rural Olpe, Kansas, will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Lucille Barb, of the United Methodist Church, Olpe. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, south of Emporia.
Elisabeth Ann “Betty” Rees was born in Emporia, Kansas on December 5, 1971, the daughter of Richard Llewellyn and Sarah (Busenbark) Rees. She and Eric Dean Dengler were united in marriage on July 28, 2004 in Olpe, Kansas. He survives of the home.
Those surviving Betty include her husband; daughters, Allison Nicole Dengler and Mikayla Dawn Dengler, both in Olpe, Kansas; sons, Kyle Brandon Rees, Emporia, and Sean Michael Dengler, Olpe; her parents, Sarah and Richard Rees, Olpe; brother, Robert Duane Rees, Emporia; an aunt, Mary Casebier, Emporia; and uncle, Donald J. Rees, Emporia.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.M. and Ruth Rees, and Fred and Cleda Busenbark.
She was a member of the Olpe United Methodist Church. Betty worked as an LPN at Newman Regional Health, Holiday Resort, both in Emporia, Golden Living Center in Cottonwood Falls, and for the past several years at Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia.
Betty’s most loved thing in life was spending time with her husband, children, and all her family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, January 29,2015 from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established to benefit her children. Contributions may be sent in care of the Olpe State Bank, or the funeral home.
