Betty Louise Geraldine Johnson of rural Emporia died on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home. She was 88.
Betty was born on April 25, 1934 in Leon, Kansas the daughter of Lloyd Myron and Mildred Beth Seglem Green. She married Marion Johnson on April 1, 1957 in Florence, Kansas. He died on October 26, 2014 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: son, Brett Johnson of Emporia; daughters, Brenda (Chris) Nickel of Olpe, Kansas and Brelana (Darryl) DeLong of Admire; grandchildren, Emily (Craig) Nickel-Farley, Sean (Sam) Nickel, Alexandria (Alex) DeLong-Medenciy, Payton DeLong, and Sydney DeLong; great-grandchildren, Rye Farley, Adalyn Farley, Owen Nickel, and Bohan Medenciy; brother, Merrill Green of El Dorado; sister, Marilyn Green Perkins of Lawrence.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold, Robert, and Richard Green, sister Lavina Dodson.
Betty worked for USD 253 in Food Service and was a Server and a Supervisor for 33 years before retiring in 2009.
Cremation is planned with a private service at a later date.
