Betty R. Loomis, 91, passed peacefully at Flint Hills Care Center on January 27, 2017.
She was born on February 9, 1925 to Rayfield Sykes and Estelle Dillman Hayden.
She married Peter B. Loucks on February 10, 1942. After his death in 1979, she married Chester Loomis who also passed.
She is survived by three children: Judy (Cecil) Bollinger of Emporia, Terry Loucks of Wichita, and Gary (Sandy) Loucks of Emporia. She was preceded in death by another son, Mike Loucks and by her sisters, Mary and Helen.
Betty worked at Crawford Manufacturing, was a daycare provider, worked as a gate attendant around Kansas lakes, and was a member of Eagles. She enjoyed her daycare children, attending family members' events, talking to people, and traveling. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a very loving person
She is survived by 16 grandchildren: Demia, Peter, Heather, Michael, Tim, Shana, John, Ryan, Terrae, Chris, Erin, Jamie, Kindra, Jennie, Jake, and Jessi, plus numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name be made to Beta Sigma Phi, which supports Newman Cardiac. These can be sent to Darla Flanagin, 2027 Rd. F5.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the west building of 12th Avenue Baptist Church (2023 W. 12th).
