Betty Joan Ludy, 91, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Homestead of Emporia.
Betty was born on October 3, 1932, in Burdick, Kansas, the daughter of Harold Calvin and Laura Katherine (Cunningham) LaBrant. She married Ross. H. Ludy in Council Grove, Kansas, on November 25, 1965. He passed away on March 13, 2013.
Survivors include twin sister Barbra Jean Gibson, Emporia, KS; brother Carl F. Jones Jr, Salina, KS; nephew Dan (Stephanie) Skinner, Emporia, KS; niece Kathy (Eddie) Biera, Hutchinson, KS; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and husband Ross H. Ludy.
Betty was a member of Flint Hills Bible Church in Emporia. She loved being a part of farm life, gardening, cooking and crocheting. In her younger adult years she was a secretary for 25 years for a couple different local businesses. She also enjoyed attending the Business Women’s Club meetings and also had great fun being a league bowling team member with her sister Barbra.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, at 2:00 P.M. at Flint Hills Bible Church in Emporia, Kansas. Interment will follow at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, Kansas.
