Betty L. Scheve

Betty L. Scheve, 88, of Olpe died March 29, 2016 at her home.

Betty was born on September 26, 1927 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Allen and Myrtle Murray Vickrey. She married Lawrence J. Scheve on January 31, 1946 in Emporia. He died on June 16, 1993 in Olpe.

Surviving family members include: daughters, Phyllis Krueger and the late husband James of Olpe, Sharon Stierwalt and husband Leon of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Sheila Broyles and husband Danny of Madison, Kansas; sister, Elnora French of Emporia, Kansas; grandchildren, Christopher J. Krueger, Rayna Bush, Trenna Hanlin, Dominic Krueger, Donovan Krueger, Tonya Stallings, Danny Joe Broyles, Amanda Steffes, Carrie Scheve, and Christie Winkler; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Glen Scheve, five sisters, and two brothers.

Betty worked for years at Crawford Manufacturing and Modine Manufacturing before retiring 26 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, St. Ann’s Alter Society, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and Happy Homemakers.

Cremation is planned with Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. Visitation will be Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. with the Rosary starting at 7:30 at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
