Betty Eleanor Walker of Emporia, died on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia. She was 100.
Betty was born on September 18, 1923, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of George Alvin and Lennie Hamblin Dent. She married Chester John Walker on April 6, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas. He died on December 24, 2021, in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: daughters, Kathy A. Dean of Enterprise, Kansas and Connie A. Palacio of Osage City; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother and sister.
Betty was a homemaker for many years before going to work with her granddaughter where she was the greeter at XS Warehouse in Emporia.
Cremation is planned with a private burial in Solomon, Kansas. Memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children Research or the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
