Beulah Mae “Dottie” Swibold, 78, Emporia, Kansas, died January 12, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Beulah Mae Keith was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 7, 1938, the daughter of Harold Leonard and Ella Marie (Digney) Keith. She married Gary C. Swibold on March 2, 1957 in Madison, Kansas, they were divorced.
Surviving family members include her daughters; Mary Angela “Angie” Green, Emporia and
Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Curley, Las Vegas, NV. Son; Gary Curtis “Curt” Swibold, and wife, Tracy, Edmond, OK. Sisters; Geraldine Marie “Jeri” Austin, Saint Robert, MO, and Elizabeth Susan “Sue” Gibson, Stratford, CT. Grandchildren; Drake Heitfield, Eli Green, Bethany Acree, Jazmin, Johnathan, & Zak Curley, Hailey, Jacob, & Greyson Swibold. She is also survived by 9 nieces, 8 nephews, 17 great nieces, 14 great nephews, 7 great-great nieces and 9 great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, a brother, Harold L. Keith, II, and sisters; Carol Joyce Schmutz-Hughes & Loretta Ann “Ranny” Inglish, and 2 great nephews.
Dottie graduated from Lamont High School in 1957. She also attended Emporia State University and Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor degree in Social Work. While in college at ESU Dottie established the “Spring Break Alternative” to help the elderly & disabled through the Didde Catholic Student Campus Center. Dottie worked with foster children & foster parents for the State of Kansas and Kansas Children’s Service League. She retired from KVC Behavioral Health Care. She was devoted to the children and families she served.
Dottie was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Father Brandon Ferrar, Celebrant. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
The Rosary will be recited at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
