Beverly A. Burke, 79, of Emporia, Kansas, died on September 18, 2011 peacefully surrounded by her family at Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.
Beverly A. Gamblian was born on October 10, 1931 in Eureka, Kansas, the daughter of John H. and Bessie (Heath) Gamblian. She married Murrell A. Young on April 9, 1949 in Eureka. He later died in Northglenn, Colorado. Beverly married Bill Burke on April 16, 1977. He also preceded her in death.
Surviving family members include: son, Paul Young of Rocky Ford, Colorado; daughter, Victoria Maciulski of Firestone, Colorado; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Gamblian of Emporia; and sisters, Wilma Lindsey and Barbara Burkett, both of Emporia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Murrell Young Jr.; three sisters; and two brothers.
Beverly worked as the head receptionist for the Denver Chamber of Commerce. After that, she was the employee benefit manager for the Kroger Company in Denver, Colorado. She had a passion for gardening and playing bridge.
