Billy Darrell DeWeese, of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe, Kansas. He was 82.
Billy Darrell DeWeese was born March 3, 1931 in Hynes, California, the son of Robert Bruce and Evelyn M. (Lang) DeWeese. He moved to Emporia in 1965 and worked for many years in production at Dolly Madison Bakery. He also was self-employed with his own lawn mowing business. Bill served in U.S. Army. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and also loved to fish.
Bill married Addie Mae Swift in Emporia on June 29, 1951. She survives of the home in Emporia.
Other survivors include: daughter, Debra S. Mackiewicz of Olathe; brother, Gerald M. DeWeese of Arizona; sister, Janice Brown of Lebo, Kansas; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Wendell DeWeese.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Strong City Cemetery in Strong City, Kansas. Pastor Michael Stubbs of Victory Fellowship Four Square Gospel Church in Emporia will be officiating.
