Billye (Authement) Fruit, 88, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Billye West was born July 3, 1926 at Granger, Texas, the daughter of Lee and Charlotte (Bean) West. She married LeRoy Authement September 29 1943. He died in 1977 at Lake Charles, Louisiana. Later, she married Dan O. Fruit on November 16, 1992 at Lake Charles. He survives of Emporia.
Besides her husband, Dan, she is survived by her son, Randall Authement, Lake Charles; and stepsons, Terry Fruit and wife, Patricia, Spring, Texas, and Chester T. Fruit, Kansas City, Kansas. There are also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald.
She was a member of First Nazarene Church, Emporia, and had worked as the secretary to the Parish Coroner of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., conducted by Pastor Mark Henson of First Church of the Nazarene, Emporia. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, October 24, 2014 from 6:30 PM until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
