Bonnie M. Iverson, 91, of Emporia died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at McPherson Health and Rehab in McPherson.
Her funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the First Christian Church, 202 E. 12th, Emporia. Pastor Lorraine Bailey of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery on west highway 50.
Bonnabelle May “Bonnie” Bailey the daughter of Clifford “DeForrest” and Agnes Piper Bailey was born November 12, 1926 in Fort Riley. She married Glendon S. Iverson on June 15, 1952 in Emporia. Bonnie was a registered nurse and an instructor for the Newman School of Nursing for 40 years retiring in 1989.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Literary League, the Women’s Fellowship (DWF), the Emporia Friends of the Library, and she volunteered as an adult education teacher, teaching English as a Second Language students.
Surviving members of the family include; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Iverson of McPherson; four grandchildren, Greg Iverson of Colorado, Kevin Iverson, Travis Iverson, and Amy Jantz-Herren all of McPherson; and three great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; two sons, Gary D. Iverson and Scott L. Iverson; and two brothers, Clifford Bailey and Ellis W. “Bob” Bailey.
