Brenda Janell Magathan Arndt of Emporia, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia. She was 66.
Janell was born on November 24, 1957, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Nelson and Jane Marie Rich Magathan. She married Tony May and they later divorced. Janell married Myles Arndt, Sr. on November 11, 2011, in Saffordville.
Surviving family members include her husband, Myles of Emporia; stepchildren that she treated as her own, Myles Arndt, Jr of Emporia, Fawn (Brian) Wooten of Pittsburg, and Natalie (Brandon) Cahoone of Wichita; eight grandchildren, brothers, Charles L. Magathan, Howard Magathan, and Marvin Magathan all of Emporia; sister, Lydia Rundle of Wichita.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Janell worked at Bluestem Farm and Ranch for 21 years. She loved trips to Mexico to enjoy the sunshine on the beaches. Every year she planted a nice garden and beds of flowers around the house.
Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2024, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, with the service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia with burial following at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
