Brian Eugene Miller passed away on May 11, 2024, at his home. He was 61 years old. Brian, the son of Larry and Sylvia (Erpelding) Miller of Olpe, Kansas was born on July 18, 1962, in Emporia, Kansas. Brian was the oldest of four and grew up in Olpe, Kansas and attended St. Joseph Catholic school, Flint Hills Tech and graduated from Olpe High School in 1981.
Brian married Pamela Eidman at Sacred Heart Church in Emporia and they had three children: Amanda Miller, Samantha Miller & Benjamin Miller. They later divorced. Brian married Frances Finnerty on November 13, 1999, at St. Joseph Church in Olpe, Kansas and they have two daughters: Faith Miller & Hope Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Frances and daughters Faith Miller & Hope Miller also Amanda Miller & Samantha Miller, his parents Larry & Sylvia Miller, Olpe, KS, sister Lynnette (Gail Fuller) Miller, Severy, KS, brother Wes (Andra) Miller, Madison, Kansas, sister-in-law, Carrie Finnerty, Emporia, KS, 3 brothers-in-law: David Walford, CJ (Amy) Finnerty, MJ (Heather) Finnerty, Hartford, KS, 2 grandchildren: Joshua & Jaylen Huckleberry, his hired hand and close friend of many years, Mitchell Maxfield and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who are mourning his death as well.
He is preceded in death by his son, Ben, brother Rusty, grandparents: Mr. & Mrs, Johnnie Miller and Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Erpelding, Father-in-law & Mother-in-law: Pat Finnerty and Rhonda Finnerty, Uncles Don Miller, Howard Rowe, Rick Miller, and Jan Gallagher.
Brian owned and operated North Miller Ranch south of Allen, Kansas. He was passionate supporter of his daughters Faith & Hope's rodeo activities. He was often seen helping them at their events. His ranch was his other passion and could be found feeding and checking his cows. Brian loved a good story and was an amazing storyteller. He will always be remembered by those blue eyes and sly grin when he was telling a good story.
Cremation is planned. The Rosary will be recited on 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, at St Joseph Church, Olpe. The family will receive friends following the rosary. Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of his life will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at St Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, KS. Memorials have been established with the Kansas High School Rodeo Association in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
