Burnice C. Ace, 95, Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
  
  
  Burnice C. Cann was born in Caldwell, Kansas on October 9, 1918, the daughter of Sylvester and May (Gibson) Cann. Burnice married Franklin P. Ace in Kansas City, Missouri on February 8, 1942. He died on January 24, 1975.
  
  
  Surviving family members include:
  
  
  daughter, Donalinda Ace (New Mexico), and her daughter, Linda Michelle Ledesma (husband, Mark), and their son, Matthew S. Ledesma;
  
  
  daughter, Becky Lynn Ace Wiggin, and her children, Connery Ace Wiggin, Stasia Lynn Creek (husband, Nate), of Montana, and Carly Sue Wiggin, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
  
  
  daughter, Suzana Ace Storrer (husband, E.J. “Butch”), and their children, Kelsey Lynn Storrer, and her son, Joel Elliott all in Kansas, and Misty Dawn Storrer, Savannah, Georgia.
  
  
  Also surviving are nephews, Gary L. Ace (wife, Eliza), Emporia, Lonn Richards (wife, Beverly), Hillsboro, Kansas; and a niece-in-law, Karen Richards, Wichita, Kansas.
  
  
  Mrs. Ace graduated from Kansas State Teachers College with her BSE in 1940 and her MS in 1966. She was the head of the Circulation Department, W. A. White Library at K.S.T.C. She was a member of the American Cancer Society, a member and Chapter Advisor of Alpha Sigma Tau, and was featured in the Emporia Gazette’s April 20/21, 2013 edition for being the longest-serving volunteer of the Widowed Persons Services of Emporia.
  
  
  A Celebration of the Life of Burnice Ace will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Cremation is planned.
  
  
  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions instead to Emporia Friends of the Zoo. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
