Burton K. Daharsh, 71 of Americus, Kansas died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
Burton was born May 1, 1947 in Emporia the son of Frank Warren and Anna May (Ketcham) Daharsh. He worked for 47 years in a GM dealership parts department. With 42 years at Longbines in Emporia, serving as the Parts Manager for over 20 years, retiring in 2014. Burton was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Americus.
On June 1, 1985 Burton married Anetta Ruth Harris in Arlington, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include daughter Shanta’ Marie (Simpson) Kemp and husband Kelly of Wellsville, Kansas, grandson Ryan Joe Kemp and granddaughter Kendra Louise Kemp, brother Dwight D. Daharsh of El Dorado Hills, California, sister Suzanne Proehl of Melissa, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Church in Americus. A private family inurnment will be in the Americus Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Americus Township Library or the Americus Fire Department and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
