On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Raleigh, North Carolina, Calvin William Maxwell, age 86, went to be with His Lord and Savior. Calvin was born in Americus, Kansas, on January 10, 1928 and was married to Betty June Maxwell in 1959 in Wichita, Kansas.
  
  
  He and Betty June were married almost 49 years, making their home in Montevideo, Minnesota for 37 years. Calvin loved His Savior and family and was active in the community and church. His passions were gardening and telling people about Jesus, and for several years he faithfully led weekly bible study for the inmates in the county jail.
  
  
  Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Maxwell; his mother, Ruth Fowler; his father, William Ernst Maxwell; and an infant brother.
  
  
  He is survived by his children: Larus Maxwell and wife, Miriam and their children Aaron and Alyssa of Raleigh, North Carolina; Robin (Maxwell) Schrag and her husband Bob and their children Will and Victoria of Herndon, Virginia; and Ann (Maxwell) Hallam and husband, John and their children, Ben, Sam and Kathryn of Austin, Texas; and his brother, Robert Maxwell and wife, Naomi and their daughters, Jacquline (Maxwell) Luedtke and husband, Marc and Pamela (Maxwell) Okrucky and husband, Phillip.
  
  
  Memorial services will be held at Americus United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in Americus, Kansas. Interment will follow.
