Carol Ensminger, 85, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., conducted by Mr. Charles Bradbury, First United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held that afternoon at 3:00 P.M. at Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas, conducted by Pastor Lloyd Houk.
The family will receive friends during the hour before the services at the funeral home.
Carol Ensminger was born at LaHarpe, Kansas on April 26, 1929, the daughter of Amos H. and Mildred F. (Grove) Remsberg. She married George W. Ensminger at LaHarpe, Kansas on May 24, 1947. He died September 9, 2012.
Carol is survived by her son, John Ensminger, Emporia; daughters, Linda Ensminger, Fredonia, Kansas and Cheryl Protheroe, Emporia; grandchildren, Brian, Stephen, and Marc Protheroe, Meagan Ensminger, Carrie Hicks, and Lily Ensminger; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Gavin Hicks.
She was preceded by her husband, George; sister, Barbara McCrary; and her parents.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Emporia, and had been employed as a secretary.
Memorial contributions to the church may be sent in care of the funeral home.
