Carole Ann Carter of Emporia died on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  She was 78.

Carole was born on September 29, 1942 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Richard Wayne and Morene LaVerne Armstead Carter.

Surviving family members include: daughters, Stephanie L. “Damon” Carter-Williams of Topeka, and Monica Carter of Emporia; Michael James “Lisa” Carter of Olathe; grandchildren, Shawn Carter, Kristi Williams, Ja’Mon Carter-Williams, DaMisha Williams, Mariah Carter-Williams, Nathan Carter-Williams, JaLen Carter, Kelsi Jo Bridges, Dexter Allen Carter, and Marin Gray Carter; brother-in-law, Henry DePriest of Redondo Beach, California; sister-in-law, Bertha Carter of Nicodemus, Kansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Christopher Carter; brothers, Robert Earl Carter, Billy Wayne Carter, Joe Donald Carter, and David Lee Carter; sisters, Jacqueline Aline DePriest, and Rose Marie Bates.

Carole was a Daycare Provider for years before going to the Ramada Inn and the Presbyterian Manor in Housekeeping.  She was a member of Mt. Olive AME.

A private graveside service will be held at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.  A memorial service will be held at a later date for friends and extended family.
