Carole K. Samples, 83, Emporia, Kansas and formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Carole Kay Parks was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 13, 1942, the daughter of Charles O. and Mary Evassie (Greene) Parks, Carole and Charles Adrian Samples were united in marriage at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Omaha, on April 19, 1970. He passed away December 26, 2024. Surviving are sons; Chuck Samples (Ginny), Emporia, Kansas, and Peter Samples (Ranae), Omaha, Nebraska, grandchildren; Cas, Hunter, Sofie, Athena, Angela, Jonathan, Britney, and Kaitlyn.
Mrs. Samples was a homemaker. She was active in quilting in the Omaha area, belonging to quilt guilds and groups, even authoring a well regarded book on quilting; “Treasury of Crazyquilt Stitches”. She also owned Dream-A-Seam, a template business connected to the book.
The mass of Christian Burial will be at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Emporia, Kansas, on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 1:30 P.M.
The family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:00.
A memorial has been established to help defray Carole’s medical expenses. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801
