Cathy Lynn Coop

Cathy Lynn Coop, of Emporia, Kansas, died October 16, 2023, at home. She was 67 years old.

Cathy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 12, 1956, the daughter of Ralph Leroy and Alma Lorene (Ford) Harris. She married Marvin Coop on January 12, 1980, in Emporia, Kansas. He passed in August of 1985. Cathy then married John E. Roberts on December 6, 1986, in Emporia, Kansas. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include son James D Coop of Americus, KS; daughter LeDawn L. (Thomas) Getten of Lawrence, KS; brother Marvin L (Olene) Harris of Hamilton, KS; sister Candy (Larry) Cole and nephew Waylon Cole of Neosho Rapids, KS; grandchildren Erin (Nathan) Goodwin, Brenden Coop, Hayden Coop, Leora Oliva, Eaven Sommer; and great-grandchildren Bentley Goodwin and Emaleigh Goodwin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, niece Shellie D. Nelson, brother Michael L. Harris, and sister-in-law Sherry A. Harris.

The family would like to recognize the following casket bearers: son James Coop; grandsons Nathan Goodwin and Eaven Sommer; nephews Waylon Cole, Allen Albright and David Harris; brother-in-law Larry Cole; and friend Luke Turner.

Private services are planned, followed by a burial Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton, Kansas.
