Chance Elson McNeese of Emporia died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home. He was 34.
Chance was born on September 16, 1986 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Robert E. and Karen L. Elson McNeese.
Surviving family members include: mother, Karen L. McNeese of Emporia; brother, Charles R. McNeese of Emporia; nephew Jax Ryder McNeese of Emporia.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert E. McNeese, grandparents Victor and Ellen Elson, grandmother Louise McNeese, uncle Charles William McNeese.
Chance graduated from Emporia High School in 2005. He continued his education and received his Associates Degree from Flint Hills Technical College.
Chance was a machine operator at Vektek in Emporia. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia.
Chance enjoyed sports. He played football for EHS. After graduation he judged power lifting meets for the high school. For the past few years, he helped coach youth flag football teams, including the last four years for his nephew Jax’s team. On late-year weekends Chance cheered the Kansas City Chiefs and Notre Dame football teams.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Burial will follow at the Wilsey Cemetery, Wilsey, Kansas. Memorial contributions will be for Emporia High School athletics/weight room and can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
