Charles D. "Chuck" Fechter

March 3, 1944 — June 26, 2017

Charles D. “Chuck” Fechter, 73, Emporia, Kansas, passed away on June 26, 2017 at his home.


Chuck was born in Pueblo, Colorado on February 3, 1944, the son of Arthur Dean and Alma Lee (Elder) Fechter. He married Jane Schmidt, and they later divorced.


Surviving family members include his son, Chad Fechter and his wife, Brooke, Olathe, Kansas; daughter, Lisa Carter, Lawrence, Kansas; life-partner, Rosalie “Rose” Brown, Emporia; father, A. Dean Fechter, Wamego, Kansas; brothers, Harold and Ronnie Fechter, Belvue, Kansas; and grandson, Cooper Carter.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Lee Fechter, and daughter, Brenda Lee Fechter.


Chuck was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia.


He was an auto parts sales representative at Temp & Co. from 1964 to 2003, then at Car Quest from 2003 to 2010. He established The Gun Den in 1984.


Cremation has occurred. A Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M, with Father Ron Livojevich, Celebrant.


The Rosary will be recited at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening, July 14, 2017. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.
