Charles Leonard Glenn, 77, Emporia, Kansas, died at his home on Monday, October 28, 2013.
  
  
  
  Charles Leonard Glenn was born January 3, 1936 at Charleston, Kansas, the son of Oscar Lee and Della Marie (Tremaine) Glenn. He married Judith A. Needels March 26, 1954 at Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She survives of the home.
  
  
  
  Surviving family members include his wife; daughter, Debbie L. Rice, Emporia; brothers, Robert D. Glenn, Lebo, Kansas, Marion F. Glenn, Crossville, Tennessee, and William F. Wagner, Emporia; grandchildren, Patty Ortega, Julie Soukup, Charles Terry Alvarado, Nicole Rice, Savannah Alvarado, all of Emporia, and Aaron Glenn, Hutchinson; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
  
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John L. Glenn; his daughter, Karoli Alvarado; and son, David Glenn.
  
  
  
  Leonard was an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years, and had been retired 15 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees.
  
  
  
  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, and had served as a leader in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
  
  
  The funeral service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Susan Daniel-Brey of the church. Burial will be follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
  
  
  
  The family will receive friends at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Wednesday evening, October 30, 2013 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
