Christine Wyda, rural Emporia, Kansas, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the age of 58.
Christine was born in Emporia, Kansas on August 4, 1966, the daughter of Charles Michael and Sue A (Kurzen) Wyda. Chris graduated from Northern Heights High School in 1984 and University of Kansas in 1989. She was a coder at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. Over her 36+ year career, she also worked for St. Francis Health, Bethany Medical, Menorah Medical, Children's Mercy Medical & Kansas City North Medical Hospital.
She is survived by her mother, Sue of Emporia, Kansas, brother; Charles M. Wyda, Jr. & (wife Peggy), Royse City, Texas, sisters; Michelle Tyson & (husband Randy), Burlingame, Kansas, Jennifer Weaver & (husband Sheldon), Americus, Kansas. Chris's pride & joy were her nieces and nephews; Jenika Orsak, Sydney Cook, Matthew Burkert, Jarrett Morris, and Taryn Escobedo. Great nieces and nephews; Charles Orsak, Cooper Orsak, Casen Cook, Collins Cook, and Livy Escobedo.
Cremation is planned. A Celebration of Christine's Life will be held at a later date. Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, which is assisting with arrangements.
