Cindy Katherine Primeau

Cindy Katherine Primeau, 71, of Americus, Kansas died Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her home.

Kate was born January 21, 1952 in Nuckolls, Nebraska, the daughter of Darrell and Dorothy Dillon. She grew up in Emporia Kansas and graduated from Emporia High School in 1970. She graduated from Minot State University with a bachelors in Art Therapy and Psychology, and then from Emporia State University with a master’s degree in Art Therapy in 1988 and a second master’s in Clinical Psychology in 1989. She worked at the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas in Garden City as a clinical therapist for 20 years and almost 4 years at Crosswinds in Emporia. She was very passionate in helping people. Kate retired in 2016. Her favorite pastimes were antiquing, reading, and she loved a good Fart joke. Family dinners and game nights were always filled with laughter.

On July 21, 1981, Kate married David Primeau in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: son Joe Russell and wife Gretchen of Americus, grandson Specialist Sam Russell of Americus, niece Carrie Boettcher of Emporia, her three cats Jake, Penny, and Kevin, and the best friend a person could ask for Karen Whittington.  She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brothers that died at birth.

Cremation is planned.
