Clinton J. Young of Olpe, Kansas died on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home with his wife by his side.  He was 71.

Clinton was born on December 14, 1949 in Fredonia, Kansas the son of James and Clara Jensen Young.  Clinton was a lifelong resident to the Olpe Area.  He graduated from Olpe High School in 1967.  He studied a year in the seminary and then served in the United State Army.  Upon leaving the Army, Clinton worked at IBP, Kansa, where he was a welder and then got his CDL and went on to drive for Rohle, Red Line and several other small companies.  He liked to bowl, but truly loved to go fishing and received several trophies in fishing tournaments as well as hunting all his life.

He married Julie Carson but later divorced, he later married Janice Norine Reeves on March 10, 1988 in Emporia, Kansas.  She survives.

Surviving family members include: wife, Janice Young of Olpe; son, Ryan Young of Madison; daughter Kari Epperly of Missouri; grandchildren, Jazzmin Epperly, Kamden Epperly, Brooklynn Epperly, Chancellor Mccomber, Tanner Hettenbach; step-sons, Carl W. Elder, Jr., Stephen Elder, and John Horne; 10 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren; mother Clara Young of Olpe; sisters, Rita Hensel of Hutchinson, Michell Jones of White City, Catherine Kasten of Herington, and Brenda Adams of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brothers, Robert Young of Whitefield, North Carolina, Leonard Young of Olpe, Wayne Young of Madison, Louie Young of Raymore, Missouri, and Keith Young of Gardner.

He is preceded in death by his father James Young and brother Stephen Young.

Cremation is planned.  Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe.  The rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. before the service at the church.  Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Catholic Church can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.  Clinton will definitely be missed by his wife, family, and friends, throughout the community.
