Connie L. Bischoff, 78, Emporia, Kansas, died on November 26, 2014 at
Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.
Connie, the daughter of Jim E. Walls and Helen R. Olsen Walls, was
born on December 30, 1935 in El Dorado, Kansas. She married Rolland
Mears in 1954, they were divorced. She later married Melvin Bischoff on February 2, 1975 in Emporia. He died on December 20, 1990.
She is survived by: sons, John Mears and wife, Brenda, Emporia, and
Thomas Mears, Fergus Falls, Minnesota; brothers, Jim Walls of Kanub,
Utah, Robert Walls of Richardson, Texas, John Walls of El Dorado,
Kansas, Dan Walls of Hesston, Kansas, Kevin Walls of Oregon, and Mark
Walls of Leon, Kansas; sisters, Janice Nielsen of Council Grove,
Kansas, Joann Hackler of Rosalia, Kansas, and Judy Walls of Colorado
Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Melissa Mears, Amanda and husband Michael McMurphy, Heather Mears, and Samantha Mears, all of Emporia, Molly and husband Chris Gronniger of Maize, Kansas, Zoey Mears, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Heidi Mears and Galen Mears of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; and eight great-grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death are: her parents; brother, Richard Walls; sister, Phyllis Ratzlaff; and son, Faron Mitchell.
Connie was a home health provider until her retirement in 2009.
Cremation is planned, with a private memorial service to be held at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to
