Cynthia Lou Lewis

Cynthia Lou Lewis of Emporia, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.  She was 65.

Cynthia was born on March 1, 1960, in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Eugene and Judith Kay Jones Yearout.  She married Martin Scott Lewis on June 18, 1982, in Cumberland, Kansas.

Surviving family members include her husband, Martin Scott Lewis of Emporia; daughters, Merry Margaret Lewis and Jessica Kay Carter, both of Goodland, Kansas; grandchildren, Dominick Lewis of Lamar, Colorado, Leah Carter of Goodland, Jonathan Sturn of Eureka, and Adison Sturm of Goodland as well as three great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Cynthia was a homemaker but before that she worked at North Elementary and Goodland High School for several years before moving to Emporia.  In her downtime Cynthia loved making art – drawing, painting to etching glass. She even illustrated a children's book to showcase her talents.  When Cindi wasn't working or crafting, she loved spending time with family and friends, rock picking, going to the mountains and spending time at the lake.
