Dale E. Crook, 86, rural Emporia, passed away at his home Monday afternoon, April 20, 2015.
Dale Everett Crook was born on May 2, 1928, at Topeka, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Gladys (Sheldan) Crook. He married Betty McFadden June 21, 1948 in Santana, California; she died July 5, 1997. He later married Darlene (Foster) Standley in Topeka on November 4, 2000. She survives of the home.
Besides his wife, Darlene, other family members include his sons, Lester Crook, and Loren Crook, Temecula, California, Barry Crook, Forest Lake, California, and David Crook, Suffolk, England; daughter, Robin Reilly, Happy Valley, Oregon; stepson, Marvin Standley, Hutchinson, Kansas; stepdaughter, Jody Thomas, Houston, Texas; brother, Virgil Crook, Arvada, Colorado; sisters, Irene Honaker, Topeka, and Maxine Mathes, Chetopa, Kansas; nine grandchildren; one step-grandson; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell, Wayne, and Richard Crook.
Dale attended West Side Baptist Church, in Emporia. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked a number of years for Ford Aerospace.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at West Side Baptist Church, Emporia, on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. An inurnment service will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Chicago Mound Cemetery, south of Emporia.
The family requests no flowers. A memorial has been established for the Emporia Christian School, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
