Dale P. Hines, 93, of rural Emporia died on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home.
Dale was born on January 16, 1923 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Frederick Chester and Myrtle F. Shaw Hines. He married Inez E. Schmidt on February 14, 1942 in Winfield, Kansas. She died on November 7, 2015 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: sons, Ronald Hines and wife Judy of Lebo, Donald Hines and Ray Hines and wife Sandy of Emporia; five grandchildren, Sheri Siebert, Tim Hines, Deanne Kelly, Tony Hines, and Michelle Hines; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife Inez.
Dale was in Truck and Tractor Sales for 65 years, he also worked for the railroad for four years, worked on the pipe line and helped build the Kansas Turnpike. Dale was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., November 21, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia. Burial will follow at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till service time at the church on Monday.
