Darla Tenney Cahoone

Darla Tenney Hogan Cahoone of Emporia died on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home in Emporia.  She was 64.

Darla was born on February 6, 1960, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Dale and Betty Jo Miller Hogan.

Surviving immediate family members include her sister, Marilyn Hogan Blaufuss of Lenexa, brothers, Kevin D. Hogan of Olathe, and David L. Hogan of Temple, Texas, sister-in-law, Darla Weiss of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas and Two Stepsons, Brett Cahoone, and Bruce Cahoone, Jr.

After graduating from Hartford High School in 1978, she attended Emporia State University and received her B.S. in Home Economics.  She later attended Nursing School and earned her degree as an LPN.  Darla later worked for Maxim Healthcare in Kansas.  She married Bruce Cahoone in Merriam, Kansas, and was married for 19 years before he passed away in 2016.

Darla enjoyed playing bingo with her sister-in-law, Darla at the VFW Hall.  She loved the holidays with her sister and cooking holiday dinners.  She also loved nature and drawing flowers and birds on her phone.

On Sunday June 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. there will be a Celebration of Life Burial for Darla at the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Kansas.  Please come and bring any memories you might have or wish to share.
