Darlene Lucille Hadden of Emporia died on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.  She was 85.

Darlene was born on January 24, 1936 in Burlington, Kansas the daughter of John D. and Lena Wood McCullough.  She married Franklin Delano Hadden on September 8, 1962 in Yates Center, Kansas.  They later divorced.

Surviving family members include: son, Delano G. (Sharon) Hadden of Newton, Scott A. Hadden of Wichita, and Victor L. (Angie) Hadden of Americus; daughter, Valorie L. (Jayson) Libertus of Emporia; grandchildren, Jamin Hadden, Nick Hadden, Levi Hadden, Cody Hadden, Josh Hadden, Matthew Waters, Drew McKee, Briana Becker, Jeremiah Mercer, Hailley Libertus, Brittanee Libertus, Joey Kent; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Winnie) McCullough of Hutchinson, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Courtney Hadden, brother Clyde McCullough, and infant sister Helen McCullough.

Darlene graduated from Burlington High School in 1954.  She was a Certified Medical Assistant for twenty-nine and a half years at Golden Age Lodge in Burlington before becoming Life Care Center.

Cremation is planned with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.  Memorial contributions to Friendship Meals can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
