David Lee Brown, Sr.

David Lee Brown, Sr. 80, Neosho Rapids, Kansas, passed in Topeka on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

David Lee Brown was born at Olpe, Kansas o July 27, 1939, the son of George M. and Mary C. (Schneider) Brown.  He married, and later divorced, Alice M. Klumpe. To this marriage were born Genevieve “Jenny”  Wagers, Neosho Rapids, KS,  David L. (Tracy) Brown, Westphalia, KS,  George M. Brown, who died in 1976, Louis J. (Leslie) Brown, Great Bend, KS, and Janice A. Brown (Dave Shown), Emporia, KS. He later married and divorced Shirley A. Augustine, and they had a son; John L. Brown, who died in 2019, as well as a surviving step-daughter; Sheila (Darrell) Gaskins, Topeka.  Also surviving are his brothers; Marvin (Gayle) Brown, Emporia, KS and Mike (Judy) Redmond, WA, as well as nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brothers; George and Virgil, and a sister; Georgia Hailey.

Mr. Brown was a heavy equipment operator for A.K. Gillis Construction Company in Texas until retiring in July of 2006.

Cremation is planned with a private family service later.
