David LeRoy Praeger II, Emporia, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in an accident west of Emporia on the Cottonwood River. He was 32.
David was born at Biloxi, Mississippi on February 19, 1979, the son of David Prager I and Donna Jones. He married Jenna Hermman in 2007 at Topeka, Kansas, they were divorced.
Surviving family members include: his parents, Donna Jones of Wellton, Arizona and David Praeger I of Huntsville, Alabama; girlfriend, Kelly Blankley, Emporia, Kansas; son, David Praeger III, and Cameron Rowland of Salina, Kansas; daughters, Hailey Praeger, Salina, Kansas, Savannah Rae Rangels, Harrisonville, Missouri, and McKenzie Praeger of Emporia, Kansas; grandparents, Melba and Ronnie Dunn, Wellton, Arizona, and Kay Praeger, Yuma, Arizona; and a sister, Dawn Praeger, Wellton, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Jones and Otto Praeger.
He worked as a maintenance engineer at Camoplast for three months. David was a 1997 graduate of Emporia High School, a graduate of Flint Hills Technical College, and had also attended Emporia State University for one year.
Funeral services will be at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M., Friday, July 8, 2011, conducted by Pastor Kenneth Armstrong, West Side Baptist Church, Emporia. Cremation will follow the service.
