Debra Lee Rice, a lifetime resident of Emporia, Kansas, died at her home Wednesday evening, December 28, 2016 at the age of 61.
Debra Lee Glenn was born in Emporia, the daughter of C. Leonard and Judith (Needels) Glenn. She married Warren Shown, who she later divorced, Joseph “Butch” Rice and Kelly Turner, both of whom she divorced.
Debra is survived by her daughter, Nicole M. Rice of Emporia; nieces, Patty Ortega and Savanah Lasley; and nephew, Terry Alvarado, all of Emporia, that she helped raise. There are also three grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, and Calli Huffman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karoli A. Alvarado; and her brother, David W. Glenn.
Debra was a graduate of Emporia High School and Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia. She was employed from 1973 to 2001 at Didde Web Press and from 2002 until her retirement in 2012 at Simmons Pet Foods.
Funeral services will be at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Brenda Ulrich. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
