DeeAnne Richard of Emporia, died on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas. She was 66.
DeeAnne was born on July 22, 1951 at the Burtonwood Air Force Base in England, the daughter of Herman and Doreen Jean Sharpton Byers. She married Dan Richard on November 21, 1978 in Emporia, Kansas. He survives at the home.
Surviving family members include: husband, Dan Richard of Emporia; daughter, Amber Swift (Chris) of Emporia; brothers, Dennis A. Byers of Mesquite, Texas, and Daniel A. Byers of Whitehouse, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Lowry, and half brothers David and Duane Sharpton.
DeeAnne was a beautiful lady both inside and out. She was a loving wife to the love of her life, Dan, and the best mother to her daughter, Amber, as well as the many others she influenced. She didn’t know a stranger, and was the life of the party anywhere she went. DeeAnne enjoyed sitting on her deck, having a beer, spending time with family and friends. She lived life to the fullest each and every day. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Visitation will be Wednesday night at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Following the service cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be send to Lowry-Funston Post #1908 Veterans of Foreign Wars in care of the funeral home.
