Delbert W. Moran, 93, Emporia, passed away Saturday, September 30 2023 at Emporia Place.
Delbert Wesley Moran was born in Emporia, Kansas on November 25, 1929, the son of Edwin Washburn and Ruth (Emrick) Moran. He married Barbara Ann Hughes at the First United Methodist Church, Emporia on March 12, 1949. She died September 30, 2016. Surviving family members include his son; Jeffery (Susan) Moran, Emporia, grandchildren; Paxton J. Moran, Chesterfield, MO, Paige E. Moran, Leadville, CO, and Patrick T. Moran, Emporia, great-grandchildren; Charlie, Maggie, Peyton, and Willa Moran.
He was an Engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company for 30 years, and retired several years ago.
Funeral Services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. conducted by Pastor Gene Huston. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Emporia Friends of the Zoo, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
