Della May Lyons

Della May Lyons, 86, of Emporia died Sunday May 19, 2019 at Holiday Resort.

Della May Dains, the daughter of Lester Leland and Bertha Lucille Clark Dains was born November 12, 1932 in Helmick, Kansas, west of Council Grove. She married Edgar W. Crampton on December 30, 1950 in Council Grove. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1967. She later married Richard Lee Lyons on December 21, 1968 in Emporia. He died on July 13, 2016, in Emporia.

She worked at the MitWay Café in downtown Emporia as a waitress, and was a charter member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Emporia and a member of the Countryside Baptist church in Americus and she and her husband Richard were members of the Gideons.

Della is survived by a daughter, Linda Baker of Emporia; two sisters Doris Jean Rowe of Emporia and Dorothy “Pat” Johnson of Council Grove; two grandsons, Allan David Baker of Salina and Jared Lee Fowler of Fort Worth, Texas; three great-grandchildren, David, Valerie and Izzadorah Baker; and two great-great grandchildren, Haemish and Beccalyn Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a brother, David Leroy Dains.

Della’s funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett. Pastor Rick Smith of the Countryside Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends can visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until the service time Thursday. Memorial donations to Emporia Alzheimer’s Support Group may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
