Dennis Dale Schroeder of Americus, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Sunflower Care Homes in Emporia. He was 86.

Dennis was born on December 2, 1939, in Beatrice, Nebraska the son of Roy J. and Mathilda Paul Schroeder. He married Sandra Kay Maxwell and later divorced.

Surviving family members include his son, Jeff (Tracie) Schroeder of Council Grove; daughters, Jacque Cole of Strong City, and Lori Burns of Emporia; grandchildren, Craig Conley of Strong City, Tyler Conley of Gillette, Wyoming, Alex Conley of Strong City, Lacy Cowdin of Americus, Dalton Cole of Strong City, Kylee Ballard of Madison, Tristin Burns of Emporia, Abbie Schroeder of Strong City, and Caleb Schroeder of Council Grove; great-grandchildren, Jenna Conley, Hawkins Conley, Maxwell Conley, Maggie Conley, Holland Ballard and Lettie Ballard; brother, Ron Schroeder of Liberty, Nebraska.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald Schroeder.

Dennis was a lifelong Farmer and Rancher. He served in the United States Army, and was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia.

Cremation is planned with a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia. Private burial will take place at a later date at Frost Cemetery, Americus.
